ZOO DAY!

We took Noah on his first trip to the zoo the other day. He fell asleep on the way there, but managed to stay awake for the animals and the train ride. Poor baby was sooo sleepy though. Luke enjoyed it. He liked seeing the alligators and feeding the fish :)

Silly Boys!

Noah never gets bored with his big brother. He thinks he is the funniest boy he knows. Here is a video of Noah being entertained. He can barely contain himself. Don't worry about the head bump at the end. Noah says he is fine and that he does all his own stunts:

We were having some family time in Noah's room and Luke asked me to put on some music for him. I think he danced for about 5 songs straight. Here is part of the show we got. Don't ask me because I have no idea about that kissing part at the end:

"Everyone must take time to sit and watch the leaves turn" ~Elizabeth Lawrence

We are so excited for the cooler weather to get here! I love fall and Halloween is one of my very favorite holidays. We all went to visit the Halloween store for costume ideas. Luke has decided to be a Ninja and Noah will be Red Baron. Tonight we completed Luke's October family project which was to decorate a paper pumpkin. Luke took a picture with his scary skeleton pumpkin:

On another note - Mike came from the back of the house, quietly waving me to come with him. I followed him to the bathroom to find this:

School Days (video)

Luke is learning all kinds of new things at "big school" and getting lots of happy faces. (I can prove it for those of you in disbelief!) Mike gave in and took him to DQ, aka the ice cream store, for getting 4 out of 5 happy faces last week. Who are we kidding....5 out of 5 is probably a long shot :)

Noah has been learning things, too. He is trying really hard to crawl, but has only managed to roll around and push himself backwards. What he really loves is FOOD! He must have gotten that from me ;) Here's my little lip smacker eating and getting sleepy at dinner time.

"There was never a child so lovely but his mother was glad to get him asleep." ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Noah is sleeping through the night!!!! Sometimes he will wake up at the crack of dawn, but I am OK with that. I will take what I can get. He is such a good and happy baby. He is always smiling and laughing...especially at Luke. It's exciting and sweet to see their bond getting deeper. Here's a new little video.

OK - so here is a real update

Everyone is getting along famously. Luke is getting really attached to Noah. He loves to baby talk to him ("heeeyyy Noah-bug"). The other day he said to me, "I love that baby." Here's a video of them playing together:

Now that he is 6 months old, Noah has decided to start growing up. He is eating baby food now. He likes sweet potatoes - green beans, not so much. The day after he turned 6 months old - he finally decided he would roll over for us. We were starting to think he wanted to be a little baby forever. A part of me does too, though. Just not the part that is still waking up 1 - 2 times during the night!

Noah looks a little nervous....

He ALWAYS sleeps like this. ALWAYS :)

Yummy!

Wee Tee - Best Boy Hitter

Luke's first season of Wee Tee was certainly entertaining! We ended the year with a team weiney roast (Luke ate 2 of course) and received a million pictures taken throughout the season by a teammate's grandmother. Luke got an award for Best Boy Hitter. Here are his highlight pics. Now - we enjoy the off season!

Life is But a Dream - The Pirate Song

Luke learned all about pirates at "summer school" yesterday and came home singing the "pirate song". That is where this video comes from. Check out our cute little song bird:

Here's a video of our other giggle box:

Luke Found a "Whistle"

OK....I was on the computer when Luke came out of my bathroom with his new whistle. I knew I heard a whistling sound, but didn't think anything of it at the time. He was so proud of his new discovery. I turned around to see what he was talking about and I almost fell out of my chair. Below is a picture of his "whistle".

Uuuuggghhhhh! It was so gross.....but I had to laugh! I ran over and snatched it from him. I told his dad when he got home. Luke said to him, "I scared mom."

Wee Tee 2009 is Coming to an End

Luke will have his last Wee Tee game of the season this week. Of course, WE have voted him MVP! Need we mention that he hits a home run at every game now? He is also the only player to tag base runners OUT (even when the coach is yelling to "throw it home"). He has also implemented the head first slide, but is the only player performing it...or any slide for that matter. You'll see he attempted it in this video, but fell. Of course, he did it when I wasn't filming, but I will try to capture it at his last game so I can post it. He makes me laugh!

A Baby No More - Luke Is Now FOUR!

We had Luke's "Super Cool" birthday (more like SUPER HOT - the A/C is little to none in that place, but Luke had a blast) on Saturday at Red River Gymnastics. He asked for an Iron Man Cake so we made it a Super Hero Birthday with Iron Man masks for the boys and Super Girl rings for the girls. The best part was when we got in the car to go home and Luke says to me, as though it was an epiphany, "that was an awesome birthday"! (Tear) That was all I needed to hear to make all the party planning worth it :) I can't believe my sweet baby boy is FOUR.

Bout with Bronchiolitis

Well, Noah has been sick with bronchiolitis for the past few weeks, but is doing much better now. We thought it was allergies at first and just tried to keep him inside. Later, the doctor said it was bronchiolitis. He was on a plethora of PINK medicines (which he likes to hold in his mouth and then spit out all over the place) and had to start breathing treatments. His cough was so bad that he would choke and then couldn't catch his breath at times. I didn't think it was ever going to get better...then he started with the fever. He had to have a chest x-ray, which just showed some inflammation - nothing too serious. His last doctor visit went well and hopefully we won't have to build him a bubble to live in now :) Here are some video clips we took while he was sick.

Taking the Wee Out of Wee Tee

We have been waiting for this moment for quite some time: Luke's first Wee Tee game! He had his first tournament this week and he did great. He loves all his new teammates and eating a hot dog after the game. He's a bit of a ball hog, but what can we say? Tonight he tagged 2 kids out at first!! "We didn't come here to make friends sucka" :) Luke is taking the "Wee" out of "Wee Tee". He is full on! This should be a fun first season. We'll keep you posted. In the meantime ---- check out the video!

Brotherly Love

Noah is 2 months old and getting more and more active. He is smiling and cooing now. Luke is getting more hands on these days and loves to show his baby brother all his old toys that we have gotten out of the boxes. Here are some new images of the boys!

For those that do not know----you can click on "poston press" which should be in blue at the bottom of the e-mail. That way you can see the pics and video on my blog if they don't show up in the actual e-mail :)

5 Weeks Old

Well, this is my last week at home with Noah. The last we checked he weighed 8 lbs 14 ozs, which was TWO POUNDS gained since his previous visit!

This week we are working on getting him ready for "school". He is taking a bottle, but still prefers ME. Once back at work I begin my transformation into the dairy farmer so that Noah has plenty of the good stuff while I am working.

Luke is still getting used to his little brother which has actually been quite helpful to me. There is not a lot of explanation as to why we can't hold/rock/pat Noah all the time because he is still the typical Luke....too busy to pay attention. He is also VERY understanding when I tell him he has to wait for things because I am tending to Noah. He may not seem like he is paying attention, but he is fully aware of all that is going on around him. Noah was crying (loudly) while Luke was watching Noggin (DO NOT interupt Noggin!) and he looks at me all crazy, pointing to Noah's binky and exclaims, "put that in there!"

Noah Charles Poston Has Arrived!

Noah was born Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 2:09 a.m. He weighed 6 lbs 10 ozs, 19 3/4" long. I had been having contractions since Thursday night, but nothing too painful. Just to be safe we went ahead to labor and delivery to get checked out on Friday since the weekend was upon us. I was sent home since my contractions appeared to be Braxton Hicks related. (Nobody ever listens to me)

So we went to a birthday dinner at Copeland's where I ate like it was my last meal (kinda was) and then came home. As we were resting on the couch around 11:45 p.m......here came the water! I knew what to expect this time around and even though Mike thought, "Hey, what's a little water? Maybe we should wait", I told him that it would be in his best interest to pack it up and get to the hospital b/c it was time to name this baby! As I waited for my mom to come so she could stay with Luke, all I could do was stand there as the gushing commenced..... UGH! (Mike found this somewhat humorous and I am sure the look of horror and helplessness was kinda of funny).

So to make a short story shorter.....the doctor (not mine...FUN) came in and informed us that we would have a baby in about an hour. This came as a surprise b/c we expected he would just let me simmer in my juices until morning. So now we have our sweet little addition to complete our family.

We had to go back to the hospital for a few days b/c he was jaundice. That was hard - not being able to hold him very much, but we are back home and everyone is doing fine now. Here are a few pics!

Last Chance to Vote on Baby Names

Well, my c-section is scheduled for Tuesday, February 3! I am still hoping something will happen sooner, but I am only dilated ONE cm. The belly is huge and I feel like my insides are about to fall on the floor whenever I walk around - good times :)

We have been debating over names for my entire pregnancy. Mike picked Cade and I picked Drew. Neither of us likes the name the other has picked. Those of you who know us well are not shocked, I'm sure :) We do have a backup name that Luke has decided on, but I will keep that a secret for now. The votes have been cleared - so help us out and GO VOTE! (Click the link below)
